THE CHURCH AND ITS PARISHIONERS
Once a week, usually on Friday, parishioners gather for graduation, a time when they acknowledge their fellow parishioners who have completed a course or level of auditing. At this time they have the opportunity to share their successes during a spirited assembly which also serves to encourage others to progress up the Bridge.
While most people recognize the need for a stronger emphasis on religion in their lives, very few are as actively committed to the practice of their religion as Scientologists. Whereas members of many religions generally meet only on Sundays, Scientologists may spend several hours each day, five days a week for a period of several weeks at their church while auditing or training. Many are also highly committed to participating in church-sponsored community betterment programs.
